SUSTAINABLE CONCRETE WATERPROOFING SEALER
AQURON® CPT-2000™ is recommended for immediate application after AQURON® CRS-7000™ as a second stage of concrete waterproofing and durability treatment.
Aquron Concrete Preservation Treatment 2000 will increase concrete’s waterproofing abilities. AQURON® CPT-2000™ combines with AQURON® CRS-7000™ to form an extensive internal impermeable hydrogel barrier. Together they improve concrete core strength, harden the surface/cover concrete, help concrete resist cracking, dustproof, and inhibit corrosion of reinforcement as well as reduce mildew growth, streaking and overall discoloration.
AQURON® CPT-2000™ offers a proven solution to water migration in concrete. It is an effective treatment that is aqueous-borne, deep penetrating, sub-surface densifying, and molecular bonding. AQURON® CPT-2000™ is a permanent, clear treatment/preservative/sealant solution for new or existing pneumatically applied or cast in place concrete. AQURON® CPT-2000™ will seal the matrix and significantly preserve its embedded steel.
AQURON 2000 is a water-borne nanoparticle colloidal silica, with a unique catalyst. When atomized onto the surface of concrete, AQURON 2000 penetrates deep into the porosity, reacting with the free limes and moisture already in the concrete, and inducing a C-S-H hydrogel formation.
HOW IT WORKS
The core technology is a hydrogel formation induced by colloidal silica. When spray applied to concrete, the nano-size colloidal silica reacts with the calcium hydroxide in the pore water to penetrate into the concrete pores to depths of 150mm to form a stable, polymerized hydrogel in the pores and porosity. This hydrogel over time reaches strengths similar to Calcium Silicate Hydrate (C-S-H, cement paste). Its most important function though, at any age, is that it stops moisture migration through the concrete porosity. Once the reaction has taken place, and the hydrogel is formed, it is permanent and cannot be reversed or removed, it becomes part of the concrete itself. Colloidal silica particles are nano-size and able to work in the nano-size concrete pores. A typical concrete pore is around 50 nanometres, and colloidal silica is in the range of 5-20 nanometres in size. For scale, a human hair is 100,000 nanometres. AQURON 2000 spray on concrete waterproofing can be applied to new or existing concrete. MARKHAM recommends applying AQURON 2000 to concrete during the curing stage, for enhanced curing and maximum long-term benefit.
WHY AQURON 2000 IS SO VERSATILE
AQURON 2000 controls moisture movement into and inside concrete, providing both moisture immobilization, and waterproofing properties. This makes it a remarkably versatile treatment with many benefits and many potential applications.
