Old Tiffany Building

Originally built in 1869, 15 Union Square West, overlooking Union Square in Manhattan, New York, was Tiffany & Company’s 19th-century headquarters. The building was commissioned by Charles Lewis Tiffany, and designed by John Kellum designed, which included 16-foot cast-iron arches that rose above the park. At the time, the store was described as “the largest of its kind devoted to this business of any in the world,” and dubbed the “palace of jewels”.

In 2008, after going through restoration services, 15 Union Square West has gracefully transformed into a 21st-century residential masterwork. The 12-story condominium was conceptualized by world-renowned designer Vicente Wolf and is the new definition of luxury in Downtown Manhattan.

GLASS

Brack Capital Real Estate invested in replacement glass for its famous building and found the high-profile glass was in need of a way to keep it clean and looking good all year round.

After considering the various hydrophobic coatings on the market, the client chose to have DFI technicians apply the patented Diamon-Fusion protective coating to the intricate glass design, which would reduce maintenance and visually enhance the luxurious condominium. The Diamon-Fusion nano-coating is also 100% optically clear, and does not affect the natural reflection of the glass exterior.

Diamon-Fusion was applied to more than 700 different-sized insulating glass units (IG Units), providing superior protection to the glass. The client was so impressed with the results that additional work was requested outside the original scope of work, including a large skylight and granite exterior building skirt.

The windows, reportedly, did not require cleaning for than three years, post-application.
